We’re living in a world where people are not only NOT-punished for “bad deed” but a lot of the times they’re rewarded for it.
Prisoners are no longer prisoners, what with being given absolutely all the luxuries of being “free” in a lot of prisons, even allowed conjugal visits from their wives (or just lovers) for private one-on-one interactions.
Evil reigns supreme, Good never triumphs. You need to be evil to survive in out current world. It’s just that some of us are incapable of delving to those levels, no matter what…
Thus, since no one is punished for being “jerks,” they continue to be jerks, getting worse and worse as time goes by.
It’s a shitty way to live, honestly. :/
